need help on fitness/practice starts on monday food help?softball ?please just click?
okay monday i start softball practice
this is the equipment(im getting the stuff this weekend)is this everything i need for fastpitch softball?:
-bat
-glove
-batting gloves
-cleats
-tennis shoes
-softball pants?yes or no
-practice clothes
-softballs?yes or no
-helmet(already have one with bars)
-water or gatoraid or powerade?
-bag to put things in like a softball bag thing
anything else?
anywhere you suggest that is not too much money to pay for the equipment?
okay heres my other question what should i eat where i want throw up bc we will probably be running?will baked potatoes be okay or what do i need to eat?
i have question marks on the things i need your opininion on thxs!

I have played softball for 16 years and going on my 3rd year of college softball. Depending on your level of practice, you definitely need a glove and cleats. You will only need tennis shoes if you will be practicing indoors or doing any running on pavement. It is not usually required to have a bat bc most teams have team bats but if you just would like to have your on thats ok. batting gloves are another preference thing. I usually wear one on my glove hand even when im in the field because your glove stays on a lot better. The batting gloves do not affect your hitting it just keeps your hands from getting blisters or slipping on the bat. softball pants depends on the coach. some coaches requires the players to practice in softball pants and others dont care. i usually wear them just because the pants protect your legs better than shorts and if you are practicing in the summer and you will be wearing pants in the summer then it will help you get used to how hot it gets in pants. you dont have to buy practice clothes just wear old tshirts…most coaches have a bucket or two of balls you might want to get 1 or 2 balls just to have to practice outside of team practice. again a helment is a preference, some teams have helments but its alot cleaner if you worry about germs to have your own. depending on the level of play you are at will depend on if you need a face mask or not. however a facemask is never a bad idea because it just provides more protection. water is always the best choice. for ever bottle of gatoraid or powerade you need to drink 2 bottles of water. you always need some kind of bag to put things in. they sell all different sizes of softball bags depending on the amount of equipement you have. Having a bag will allow you to keep everything together and you are less likely to loose or misplace something. Another thing you might want is if you plan on wearing shorts to practice you might want a pair of sliding shorts to wear under your shorts and a sliding pad to go around your calf. it gives you extra pading and protection to keep from scrapping your legs up and getting strawberries when you slide into a base or dive for a ball.
Look around for used sporting good stores you can usually find things cheaper. Also walmart has a lot of things to choose from and are cheaper then normal sporting goods stores. If you want a sports store either Academy, Dicks, or Hibbetts.
What to eat…It is always good to eat something like peanut butter crackers or some fruit and veggies something that is easy on your stomach. nothing real heavy, geasy, or fried. a baked potato would probably be okay. eat things that give you energy and you will be okay.

i have seen these things at modells sporting goods and are at a reasonable price in my opinion ; seriously if i need something sporty i just GOTTA GO TO MO’S LOLS =]
also if you want to throw up you shud eat a bunch of mixed up junk food and drinks then hang upside down on something for a while it worked for my friend and might just work for you too =]
have a bananna like 30 or less minutes before because then you will have quick carbs for energy fast.. and like an hour and a half, have protein like two eggs and a glass of milk and you should be golden..
and remember to eat quality foods like less than 40 min after practice..
Should u eat where u want 2 throw up? Huh? Yeah, if you’re playing baseball then yeah, so you can slide home faster!
